job listing came across my email yesterday. perl programmer, unix admin, mysql DBA …

it’s all stuff I can do. heck, it’s all stuff I AM doing.

and it comes with a nice raise attached

So, the job is in bethesda, rather than greenbelt. not that hard to get to, and I might actually just have her drop me off at the metro in college park rather thandriving it. b/c that traffic is not gonna be fun. I-95, connecticut, etc. ewww. rush hour no freakin’ way.

It’s a lot of the stuff I’mdoing now, and is actually perl oriented. i love perl programming. and my current job is a lot more PHP and web development work. this looks more perl, sql, backend-y kind of stuff. which is really where I’dr ather be, truth be told.

Then there’s the issue of the raise. listign says 90-120K. that’s a lot of more money, and thta ‘ll cover a lot of “less health coverage”. b/c the current company keeps touting the “cadillac of health plans” that we have. i can live with a ferrarri of health plans if i also get the money to “maintain” it :o

so I’m looking for my resume and looking at how to update it to look best an’ all. figure it doesn’t hurt to apply, probably won’t get it anyway, so why not.

and if they do make me an offer, i could always take it to my company and see if they’ll make motions towards the highre number :)
