welp. we went to atlanta tuesday afternoon. left from here at about 2 and stopped in NC at the red roof inn maybe 6ish. mind, i was completely tossed with only 4 hours of driving. Why? BECAUSE I WAS STILL SICK. yeah. felt lousy when we left, and it really didn’t get better driving :o

large quantities of meaty foods, huge crowds, then driving back. yay for holidays

ate at red lobster tuesday night. i ordered a shrimp & crawfish alfredo pasta, half portion. he brings it out, it’s freakin huge! I swear it’s the same size as the full i get at home! so, just to clarify, i say “wow, this is a half?” “yeah, half” “that’s a lotta half!” “you wanted half right?” “yeah, this is just more than i expected”

we eat dinner, i have like half leftover still but i’m stuffed, so we ask for the check. the check has the full size pasta. which means this was probably the FULL pasta. no wonder i couldn’t eat more than half, since I only WANTED half. I dealt with it very calmly and reasonably. I subtracted the difference in half to full from the (poor) tip I was leaving him. In the end, he got like 4 bucks on a 40$ ticket. Maybe 3. Because I refuse to pay for it when we were all VERY clear about “half”. We had a whole conversation based around the verificiation that what I received was, in fact, a half. Service was so bad that I wasn’t going to tip him well (hell, i wasn’t going to tip him well even BEFORE he brought someone else’s ticket paid on my credit card for me to sign!!!). But I REALLY refuse to TIP on food I didn’t order :o

wednesday morning we hit IHOP and then continued to the lake house. thing is freakin huge. it’s bigger than their old house. b/c apparently they felt they wanted to get a big place so they had somewhere for the family to all gather for t-day and stuff. YOU HAD A BIG HOUSE! YOU SOLD IT! jesus.

t-day the bastards wouldn’t let me cook :( her family, her sister’s husband’s family. 16 people, a baby and 2 dogs. I grew up with 10 being the absolute largest hugest gathering for a holiday (reunions were bigger but not holidays). And usually it was closer to 5. I got used to the 8-10 people every year with her family. but another whole family??? eeesh.

i actually almost broke down when i saw someone taking the spoon from the stuffing (which had been in the turkey and marinated in MEAT stuffs) to take a portion of the non-meaty-stuffing. why? b/c now i can’t EAT the effing stuffing anymore! someone finally pointed out that I could just get another spoon and cut from the other side of the dish :o

friday we went to my sister-in-law’s in-law’s lake house for dinner. mmm barbeque chicken. i hate you all :o (her mother in law made me grilled cheese and the potato side dish was veggible, so they had thought of me. but I actually LIKE barbeque chicken!!! *sigh* i hate my body)

saturday, started the trip home. stayed at the same hotel. did ihop for dinner. missed it for breakfast (and i actually wanted to try the caramel apple pancakes, too) drove to richmond and visited with her grandparents there for about 4 hours then came on home.

Oh, and FYI: Still Sick.
