so, friday wsa the ultrasound. 1pm appt. got there early, except apparently ultrasound is inpatient :o we went to the outpatient building. asked if we were in the right place for “prenatal ultrasound”. got sent from info to registration to something to the ultrasound area. the desk was cleverly labelled “breast cancer” :o
apparently by “prenatal ultrasound” they completely ignored what i was saying and sent us to some other ultrasound cancer screening desk. some discussion there, and we got the long damned directions for getting to the REAL prenatal ultrasound. cleverly hidden with all the other pregnancy stuff :o
ended up ~5 min late, which I thought was damned impressive considering how hard it was to get there (mind, we were ~20 minutes early to begin with). they finally took us back ~2pm. apparently we missed our opportunity to go in in a timely manner :o ultrasound stuff, baby’s not turning over can’t measure the heart, so walk around the room, we’ll be back in a minute to see if baby’s moved. 2:30. phone rings, it’s mom.
she swears she “didn’t know” when the appointment was (i know kiir told her a couple times). But lets look at it. it’s ~1hr procedure, a 1pm appt, give 15-20 minutes of slippage for they’re late and we get out and stuff. 1 +1.5 is 2:30. yeah, sure , no idea. right :o
found the gender out. apparently we’re having a boy. so now we’re fishing through names again (we’d been saying desmond for a couple months, but now we figured we’d look more). down to desmond or gareth, i think, at this point. sebastian, alistair, damien, and griffith were on the short list we wrote friday evening
then made soups and a friend’s engagement party saturday. running k down on sunday and cleaning around the kitchen both days. weheee
and next weekend was supposed to be the big back room, but since mom’s coming the following week, i figure i’ll finish the halls and guest room. clothes and stuff needs awaying
