So, the other day I was thinking, and that always leads to bad things. Honestly. That’s bad.

And it came to me … Jiminy Cricket is really kindofa Christ figure.

Seriously. He decends, tells Pinnochio how to live and be good. When he’s ignored, P falls from grace, reverting to the habits and life (and body) of an animal. Then he calls for Jiminy, accepts salvation, and is restored.

And speaking of, this morning one of the folks at the office was putting peeps up on their cubicle … a discussion ensued about getting some popsicle sticks to crucify them. Which led to using sprinkles for a crown of thorns. Then there was discussion about a jewish family inviting over a friend’s family to introduce their children to easter in a “non scary manner” … which, frankly, as we discussed it … what part of easter is there for jews? the crucifying of someone?

(actually, there’s passover there somewhere, but it’s not technically easter, then)

it was a big day for crucifictions, honestly. and they reminded me of the cricket thing. I shouldn’t be allowed to stop and think :o
