inspector was supposed to come last wednesday, chck wiring etc so they coudl put everything back together. no inspector ever appeared

he was rescheduled for thursday of this week, since kiir would be home for yom kippur, no show

got a call from the contractor yesterday, and apparently the inspector didn’t show the first time b/c they wrote down the wrong address. apparenlty they didn’t show the second time b/c they didn’t bother to FIX the address they had.

they’re now scheduled for the 24th. b/c howard county doesn’t do inspections this coming week.

closing in on 2 full months since they started the kitchen. oi. at least we can use it :)

over the weekend they didsome kind of load test, wanted as many people as possible to get on at once to determine if they could extend the hours of the beta.

don’t ask me, i don’t make this shit up

so, bunches got on. server lagged to nothing. rubberbanding of like 5 minutes, all kindsa fun.

don’t know if they’re extending or not, but tonight i log in, 3 red bubbles, heavy load. insane. useless. but once you got into an instanced mission it was fine :)

digging the newspaper dealio for missions. since i don’t have to run across the zone to pick up a new newspaper at the end of every mission :)

made it to 10th tonight with my robot mastermind. thinking i’m digging the mercs that i have with the other MM i created last night. hard to tell when you can barely move, of course.

they need more servers. but it’s the test servers, and once people are playing, how many really visit test anyway?

so BMNG (Blue Marble, Next Generation) goes live tonight. They decided midnight was a good time for it to go live. Like they pay me enough to be up at midnight working on their shit

Today, however, I spent trying to get the last bits in place (I failed). Never even got NEAR the idea of installing the servers. Heck, I didn’t get that close to the concept of making builds for the install CD. Oops.

but that’s OK. have to get firewall openings signed, approved and, lest we neglect, IMPLEMENTED before an installed server would help anywhere anyway :o

spent the afternoon face down in the server rack today. i’ve come to the conclusion that PS/2 connectors are the brainchild of some moron who’s never had to reach through a crowded rack and try to hook them to something.

belkin’s KVM cables have other problems, too. first off: it’s a male-male cable. Works fine for the female end on the back of the system. works POORLY on the male connector for the belkin KVM. you’d think their cbles would fit their kvm! Also, the PS/2 plugs? other than looking head on, or near enough, there’s no distinguishing marks. Some setups it has a little arrow or something, that still wouldnt’v'e been that helpful, but itwould have been something. top and bottom are IDENTICAL, down to where it says BELKIN on it. i mean, come ON! just put that on top, so i can tell top from bottom!!!

spent an hour with my torso, head and arms stuck into a rack trying to hook up the KVM for the new boxes.

not that i have port waivers to let me USE them for anything yet. oi. and 100G at 1Mbit SUCKETH!

makign a lot of general entries, ain’t i :o

thought I’d be talking moreabout the games, guess that shows what i know!

Anyway, I like SoBe Energy and LizFuel (and a few others, but they’re more an occasional break thing). I used to get them at the grocery or at target. then the grocery quit carrying them, but i noticed quiznos had them. then target quit. so now i’ve been buying them 2 or 3 at a time at quiznos or the gas station. For the lats 2 weeks, the gas station’s been out, too. Even quizno’s runs out half hte time.

If I have access, I’ll drink two a day, sometimes three.

This week, our grocery had them on sale, 10 for 10$. Except OUR grocery hasn’t had them in over a year now. my parents doesn’t carry it. the one by the office didn’t, a year ago. useless sale.

UNTIL!

today we went in for a couple things, and they had a bunch. Had, past tense. I bought three cases of Energy and 2 of LizFuel. I left 2 bottles of energy and most of a case of fuel (it was an open case and thus harder to transport). Poor cashierhad to ring the bottles up one at a time /bc the system wouldn’t let her say “24 scan” or something useful like that. 60 bottles. Saved 30$ on it, normal grocery price is 1.50$. Gas station is 1.99$. Quiznos is 1.79$. So I saved a lot.

Now I have to figure out how to bring them all in :o

PS : I plan to go back friday, in case they restocked. Maybe they’ll start stocking it regularly now, sicne I bought out half the stock that was out :)

No no, i mean tha literally, basically.

Apparently I have a “pilondial cyst” which got infected. Her words upon seeing it were comforting and reassuring. “Holy CRAP! That’s HUGE!” OK, not so comforting, and not particularly reassuring. But otherwise :o

She then commented “well, at least we won’t have to cut it, it’s already draining” followed IMMEDIATELY by “hrrm, guess I spoke too soon. It’ll take all day to drain through that little hole. Gonna have to cut it.”

No anaesthetic, b/c apparently the needle would’ve hurt as much as cutting, and been perfectly useless. OUCH!!! So she cut and drained it. Gave me a barrage of antibiotics, and I’m supposed to take 15-20 minute bathes 3-4 times today. Going back tomorrow so she can look at it cleaned out and not oozing.

If I’m lucky, it’s just a cyst and i have the option of surgery to get it removed so this don’t happen again. If I’m not, it’s a rectal absess or something, and i need major surgery so they can take a piece out of my ass.

apparently i bruised my coccyx. or something.

(the tailbone; bottom of the spine where it meets/threads the pelvis. base of the back, top of your ass)

APPARENTLY I bruised, battered, and beat it badly enough that it’s been hurting for TWO WEEKS to some degree. I have zero recollection of this, of course. You’d think I’d remember something like that !!!

Got so bad today that I could barely sit. Every tiem I shift weight, some presses on the coccyx, and there’s this wonderful screaming pain in my ass. Went to chiro (dr’s not in on mondays. or fridays. or thursday afternoon. or tuesday morning. i know she has another practice/office, but DAMN!). he suggests that, other than just bruising/spraining it, i might have pinched a nerve with it too. he adjusted my back and it felt a lot better. gonna hit hte gym in the morning for some solid stretches, see if maybe it pops back into place/alignment/whatever and lets me SIT AND WALK AGAIN!!!

gah. ow. fuck.
